The Mac Newb Tube reader… who are you?

We here at the TheMNT want to thank our readership for continued traffic and hits. We get a kick out of being part of the Mac community at large, and greatly enjoy bringing you the news in our, eccentric, ways. So what’s up with YOU guys (and gals)? Drop a line and say “hi”, brag and boast about your Mac set-up, tell your switcher story, whatever! We want to see a few quick comments from you, the readers.

Thanks again and I hope to hear from you guys!

  1. What up Chris! I am a devout Newb Tube reader. I’ve got a pretty weak set-up, but it makes do as a mini-recording studio. I totally geeked out this week over an assignment for civil procedure. I took the Traveling Newbury’s “Handle with Care”, put some instrumentals down and wrote some lame-ass lyrics relating to pre-trial discovery. I guess what I’m trying to say is that the world was probably a better place before I got garage band.

(When are you going to Caden blogging?)

  2. Sweet, send that MP3 yonder! 😉 We’re kinda apprehensive about the whole child blogging thang… Maybe when school starts for him this fall we’ll do a lil’ more.

BTW, Tango Alpha Tango, on iTunes! That’s how we have been using our Mac; listening to one of our favorite bands and picking up their CD when not able to see them live.

    Thanks for the comment!

  3. Hi

I got a macbook last year (1.83, cheap and cheerful spec…the one with the combo drive =/) and proceeded in setting up a home recording studio with garageband on the macbook. I got a Behringer mixer with an external usb soundcard and an sm58 originally and things have progressed from there. Now i’ve got a nice firewire desk going into a 2.4 macbook pro running logic pro 8 (which was a HUGE step up from garageband on a regular macbook..you can tell by the way apple have stamped pro after everything). Ive got a nice little collection of mic’s now and all sorts of unnecessary instruments including 3 keyboard, somewhere over 8 guitars and a fully blown organ (not that I actually use most of them..)

I switched over to mac from an acer 2.? desktop running windows xp. Needless to say I’l never look at a pc ever again..although I do really want a Sony TZ ultra portable (anyone know if they can be turned into a hackintosh?)

    Anyway, enough rambling..

  4. Wow, thats awesome! I’m looking to setup a Logic studio for self recordings and (hopefully) the kids or friends future endeavors. Jealous much… 🙂

I bet the ol’ 2.0Ghz C2D iMac could handle it, but oh man, what if it was a Mac Pro set up…. Thanks for commenting Will! Link to some of your stuff? We’d love to hear it.
